【明報專訊】The Star Ferry has applied for fare increases, proposing to double the fare for the cross-harbour ferry service. Such increases, if viewed in isolation, are indeed quite astonishing. However, judging from the Star Ferry's dismal operation situation in recent years, it is necessary to make sure that its financials and operations are sustainable if we do not want this historic public transport service to come to an end.
