【明報專訊】The 14th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (the Zhuhai Airshow) drew to a close yesterday (13 November). If the China International Import Expo in Shanghai is a window for China to showcase its booming markets through opening up to the outside world, then the Zhuhai Airshow is a platform for China to "show its muscles", i.e., demonstrate its military strength. The biggest highlight of this year's Airshow has been not only the dazzling array of the People's Liberation Army (PLA)'s active-duty equipment, but also the changes in the form of China's foreign military sales. This reflects the subtle changes in China's attitude towards displaying its military prowess as well as the new strategic thinking of the PLA against the backdrop of modern warfare including the war between Russia and Ukraine.
