【明報專訊】In many mainland provinces, civil servants as well as teachers and doctors, have begun to see their salaries cut significantly this year. The scale and time of the salary cut have never been announced officially. Also lacking transparency is the reason for the salary cut. Is it because of the reduction in fiscal revenues, so much so that civil servants have to tackle the tough times together with other members of society? Or is it because civil servants in wealthy provinces have been asked to reduce their salaries in order to achieve common prosperity across the country? There are no explanations either.
