【明報專訊】It has recently been exposed that a professor at Peking University had her PhD obtained from a "diploma mill". The Ministry of Education (MOE), which is responsible for supervising universities, should not merely look at the rankings of universities to decide the amount of funding they should receive but turn a blind eye to the irregularities of universities that are in the grey areas of the regulations. If universities continue to treat their academic reputations as nothing as time goes by, it will be hard for the MOE to escape blame.
