Financial Secretary Paul Chan has stressed that the authorities will spare no effort to increase the land and housing supply and has restated the possibility of putting up housing on the periphery of country parks. Meanwhile, Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan has said that ecological conservation and urban development are not necessarily contradictory ideas, and that a balance can be struck between them.
