【明報專訊】Global inflation is deteriorating. In the US, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has risen by over 9%. The cost-of-living crisis has engulfed developed economies in the West, while some developing countries with weaker economic foundations are even facing the crisis of civil unrest. Compared with the external situation, the overall inflation rate in Hong Kong is relatively mild. However, the related data does not accurately reflect the burden on grassroots citizens. If we examine the price trends of various staples in the past year, the prices of fruit and vegetables, eggs, meat and fresh fish have all seen an increase of over 10%.
