【明報專訊】Buzz Lightyear the space ranger is back in theatres but in no company of Sheriff Woody and others. Lightyear the film is not supposed to be a toy story or another outing of the Toy Story franchise. It is rather the meta-story (not a prequel nor a spin-off, strictly speaking) shedding light on the foreground of the first outing of Toy Story in 1995 when Pixar was still an independent studio, not yet to be absorbed as part of the giant Disney. Wittily Lightyear begins its course by telling us what it is about. It is about why Andy, the toys' master in Toy Story, was presented with a Buzz action figure as his birthday present way back 27 years ago.
