【明報專訊】The global crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has yet to blow over, but a food crisis and an inflation crisis are following hot on its heels. Countries are restricting their food exports one after another. India, the world's second-largest wheat producer, has also announced restrictions on sugar exports following last week's restrictions on wheat exports. The pandemic has disrupted the global supply chain which, coupled with factors such as climate change, caused international food prices to rise significantly as early as last year, which will inevitably affect people's livelihood. There is no escape from the era of high food prices, and society must have a sense of crisis.
