Pop around Town:Care Farming
文章日期:2022年5月25日

【明報專訊】In Hong Kong, we may not have heard of care farming, but many may have come across the idea of green care. Green care refers to the structured programmes for people to work with nature to benefit personal health, promote social care, or acquire education and knowledge. In the UK and elsewhere, care farming has become a rather popular form of green care over the past decade. Imagine that you run a commercial farm. A charity organisation, a government department, or a university programme leader comes to visit your farm and asks if you can procure a supervised, structured programme of farm-related activity for people with a defined need. As a farmer, you realise that there can be additional meaning and value to your work. Then, you agree to join hands with the community organisations or healthcare specialists to become a ''care farmer''.
