【明報專訊】Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being is a classic for many sound reasons. But to a 20-year-old fresh out of college, it was no more than a mere prop for feigning cultural sophistication. That year, I brought a second-hand copy of the book on the plane. Not long into the first chapter, I deserted it for a blockbuster movie. The book never left the seat pocket in front. The Unbearable Lightness was never fully experienced before it disappeared completely in my life. It wasn't until some years later that I read the book properly.
