Although the numbers seem insignificant, necessary measures were taken in accordance with China's established policy of early detection; early reporting; early isolation; early treatment. In one community in Baiyun District, which has the most cases, three rounds of testing have already been done over three days. Yesterday, the number of cases recorded in the entire city soared to 22. The Guangzhou municipal government announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in primary and secondary schools. Public facilities were closed, and compulsory universal nucleic acid testing was implemented. As for the more radical measure, citizens were barred from leaving Guangzhou unless necessary.
