Editorial:HK government's imposition of national security censorship on films
文章日期:2021年6月17日

【明報專訊】The government has gazetted new guidelines for censors under the Film Censorship Ordinance. The new guidelines stipulate that if a film may constitute a crime that endangers national security, it should be assessed as unsuitable for screening. No film should contain any contents that may instigate crimes under the National Security Law for Hong Kong (HKNSL) or actually constitute such crimes. People in the movie industry are worried that the guidelines might be vague and they could easily find themselves on the wrong side of the law, while the government has said that it will communicate more with the industry and provide more explanations.
