Study Abroad : On rugby

【明報專訊】The Rugby World Cup is on at the moment. You might have no idea what I am talking about; I certainly didn't know rugby existed before I came to England. But it is the main sport for boys at my school (increasingly for girls, too) and is very popular in countries such as the UK, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Ireland. Legend has it that in 1823, William Webb Ellis, a pupil at Rugby School, defied the rules of a football game by picking up the ball and running with it, creating the first-ever game of rugby. I don't profess to be an expert, but I will do my best to explain.
