【明報專訊】IN 2009, a masked psychedelic metal (迷幻搖滾) band in Afghanistan shook the drowsy, oppressed music scene in the country. Despite mixed reviews for their debut album Anatomy of a 24 Hour Lifetime, there was little dispute over the band's progressive effort that challenged the generally conservative society. Hard-core rock fans might dismiss the lack of serious riffs (重複樂段), or the cheekiness of the lyrics. Some might even hold the band insufficient against a professional music standard. Yet, many would acknowledge that their sheer existence was an important symbol against conservatism.
