【明報專訊】Last week was certainly a disheartening one for Hong Kong. After two mass public protests against the Extradition Law, the haughty Chief Executive and her government have reiterated empty messages at press conferences. Alleged violence used by the police, albeit against international standards, was left uninvestigated with impunity. None of the officials would take any blame for what has happened. Instead, all of them verbally manipulated either the law, or their public statements, in order to mislead the public and evade responsibilities. Politicians grabbed on to whatever chances were left to prevent a complete bankruptcy of their integrity in the eyes of potential voters.
