文章日期:2019年5月6日

【明報專訊】"If all the chicks coming into this world were as stubborn (頑固的) as you," Mama Hen said as she bent over one of her eggs trying to coax a chick out, "there would be fewer chickens around." "And probably fewer chicken dinners," the little chick answered. "That's a terribly negative response (消極回應) from someone so young!" Mama H. exclaimed, still coaxing the little fellow out of its shell. To coax out is to gently encourage (鼓勵) someone to do something, or to come out of a place.
