A Journey Backwards : How much can you blame your upbringing?
文章日期:2019年3月4日

【明報專訊】Upbringing has a profound impact on a person's values, beliefs and behaviour. Just to name a few typical examples, broken families usually instil a sense of insecurity in kids which affects their later relationships. Spoilt kids may grow into adults who take everything for granted. Strict and discouraging families sometimes produce kids with a disproportionate fear of making mistakes. Especially in congested cities like Hong Kong where people don't traditionally move out before getting married, the family remains the immediate surroundings for young, and even fully-grown adults. A person may find it hard to detect or change behavioural patterns resulting from their upbringing.
