Based on the real-life story of a leukaemia patient who smuggled cheaper generic drugs from India, the recently released Chinese film Dying to Survive（《我不是藥神》）has generated widespread awareness of the unaffordable prices of patented medications charged by pharmaceutical corporations. And this profoundly disturbing reality still prevails.
