Common Nonsense : Can we? Can't we?
文章日期:2018年9月7日

【明報專訊】Whenever the Beijing government picks someone to denounce, the local establishment scrambles to echo. The voices are various but the tone monotonous. Hardly a symphony, hard banging mostly. This time Beijing picks Andy Chan, the convenor of the ill-fated Hong Kong National Party, after Chan chose to pick a fight with Beijing in the still hollow discourse of the independence of Hong Kong. Chan's such discourse itches Beijing's back and front. Beijing rises and tries phenomenally to crush Chan and his star-crossed discourse. Hong Kong people are dismayed. I am especially so when Beijing condemns fiercely Chan and his discourse as violations of the Basic Law, not to mention that I am even more annoyed when the local establishment dances to that music unthinkingly and unblinkingly.
