【明報專訊】TWO messages were conveyed during Chief Executive Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor's visit to Shenzhen on 20th July. One was to promote decisively Hong Kong's innovation and technology development. The other was to strengthen its cooperation with Shenzhen. Both cities enjoy their own advantages in innovation and technology. Competition also occurs alongside cooperation. Shenzhen has long taken the lead in this contest. Unless Hong Kong rouses itself to play catch-up, not only will it be unable to benefit from the results of collaborative development, but it will also possibly lose its position as a collaborator or even become marginalised.
