Write on... The Place of the Sea Wolves
文章日期:2018年6月22日

【明報專訊】There's nothing there really: just a lot of trees, a bunch of rocks, a shoreline, and beyond that the Pacific Ocean. It's all green and blue. If you want to spend time looking at white horses and seagulls and listening to the wind blowing through the pine needles, that's one thing. But beyond that, there's no Ferris wheel, no swing rides, and not a single carousel. Perhaps even more disturbing, there's no Muzak, nobody selling taffy apples or boxes of buttered popcorn. At the Place of the Sea Wolves south of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California — the park now called Point Lobos — there's nothing there but trees and rocks, sky and water. Just being there makes you feel alone and the world seem vast.
