A Journey Backwards : Reinvention of Echigo
文章日期:2018年5月14日

【明報專訊】First launched in 2000, the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale (ETAT) in Japan is one of the largest outdoor contemporary art festivals in the world. In the light of Japan's ageing population and rural-urban migration, ETAT was an attempt to reinvent the depopulated areas and shed light on their unique cultural and historical importance. Over 150 works by art masters such as Cai Guoqiang, Yayoi Kusama, Carsten Holler and Elmgreen & Dragset dot the idyllic rice fields and civilian buildings in the area.
