A Journey Backwards : O Mikoshi

【明報專訊】Throughout the centuries, human beings have built an intimate relationship with their gods, which translates into colourful customs even in the modern secular days. In Japan, gods in the temples traditionally go on a Tour-de-Ville every year. They are hoisted around town in a Mikoshi — a palanquin resembling the main temple — to bless His believers who are housebound due to illness.
