【明報專訊】DURING the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" was written into the party's constitution. In Xi's report to the congress, which is more than 30,000 words long, the phrase "a new era" was mentioned 35 times. It was, for example, stressed that Socialism with Chinese Characteristics had entered a new era, which "is of huge significance to the development of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese nation, and is also of huge significance to the development of socialism around the world and the social development of the human race".
