【明報專訊】My decade-long friend Merle and I met on a small hike in Edinburgh. Back then, neither of us had travelled much of the world. Consequently, our conversations tended to be heavily domestic. It was then when I learnt about her mother, Erdmud, who later became a motherly figure to me until the present day.
