【明報專訊】The release of Wonder Woman, distributed by Warner Bros earlier this month, has got a lot of people talking. Money matters to Hollywood, of course. At the time of writing, box office figures showed the movie has brought in over US$600 million around the world. Its production is said to have cost about US$150 million. It is poised to surpass the highest grossing movie worldwide ever directed by a woman that features a central woman character. The last highest-earning Hollywood movie directed by a woman is the 2008 movie adaptation of Mamma Mia!, a musical.
