【明報專訊】Some people enjoy writing letters. Most people never write them at all. Then there are people like Jane. I knew her in Switzerland, where she and her husband lived in a tiny village high up in the Alps overlooking Interlaken. It was the middle of winter and I was invited to spend several days in their chalet, which looked out over a wide valley. The days are short at that time of the year, the midday sun completely vanishing behind the towering peaks to leave the snow-covered valley bathed in a pale blue cast.
