【明報專訊】People think of journalists as modern adventurers, their cameras hovering over dead corpses one day and capturing the visiting pope the next. The blunt truth is, many an editor spends his days immobile, fishing for stories in the sea of information on the Internet. As soon as anything is hooked, he condenses what might be a 10-page-story into a snappy Facebook post of no more than 30 Chinese characters. This is no satisfying job because journalists are by nature aspiring writers. However, in 2017, ten seconds is all we can stingily spare for a piece of information, and journalists sulkily abide.
