The City as Told : Hollywood Road, as told by a long-time fruit vendor
文章日期:2017年1月23日

【明報專訊】Old Chan used to run his fruit stall at the junction of Aberdeen Street and Hollywood Road, right next to what is now PMQ. On a good day, his wife would join him as the best PR, befriending passers-by old and young. Nothing fancy they sold — oranges, apples, bananas, and occasionally watermelons — all displayed on large pieces of leaves Old Chan picked on his hikes. Feng shui masters must have advised him on location, because business was great — orange juices for taxi drivers stopping at the junction, watermelon for kids drained on a boiling day, apples for grandmas who bought them out of habit rather than need.
