The City Wanderer : Legco Election in retrospect
文章日期:2016年9月12日

【明報專訊】With a voter turnout of 58%, Hong Kong people have shown that they care about the Legco election more than ever. The opposition fought their way to keep their veto power: less popular candidates dropped out days before the election to make way for others, senior members became enthusiastic election cheerleaders for new faces and volunteers braved the rain to plead for votes from apathetic voters. Their effort paid off with the non-establishment camp securing 19 out of 35 seats in the geographical constituencies and 23-year-old Nathan Law from Demosistō becoming the youngest legislator in Hong Kong's history. In the District Council (Second) "Super Seats", romantic fiction writer Roy Kwong passed the pole with close to half a million votes, highest for a single candidate in Hong Kong's history.
