【明報專訊】Many of us grew up with Taiwanese romantic movies. Despite their largely predictable plots, we don't mind watching them once in a while for nostalgic reasons. The previous blockbusters You Are The Apple of My Eye (《那些年，我們一起追的女孩》) and Our Times (《我的少女時代》) might have raised a few eyebrows for their exaggerated humour. Nevertheless, they have earned points for bringing back our bittersweet high-school memories. However, as tricks can grow old, coming-of-age movies need greater depth to continue to enchant their viewers. I felt this especially at a recent screening of At Café 6 (《六弄咖啡館》), an upcoming Taiwanese romance.
