【明報專訊】It is never easy to learn a language, but it can be fun and rewarding to acquire essential daily usage of a language. A book titled 「輕描淡寫話英語」was released last month. It is a collection of newspaper columns about English usage Mrs Helen Yu Lai Ching-ping (余黎青萍) has written. Mrs Yu earned her degree in English Literature from the University of Hong Kong in 1965. Between then and 2001 she held important government posts. She was the first Director of the ICAC's Community Relations Department. She also headed the Buildings Department and the Education Department. In 2002 she was awarded a Silver Bauhinia Star and, in 2011, she retired from public service.
