【明報專訊】The phrase "a leap of faith" attaches a sense of heroism to risky ventures, which I think is highly misleading. The Collins English Dictionary uses the following example to illustrate the correct usage of the phrase: "It requires a significant leap of faith to believe that we can succeed where so many others have failed." Does such a leap point to nothing but foolhardiness disguised as courage?
