The City Wanderer : Write well, 2016
文章日期:2016年1月18日

【明報專訊】Writing in this day and age feels quite weightless sometimes because of the sheer amount of content already available out there. In May 2013, 4.75 billion pieces of content were shared via Facebook alone every day (source: Facebook). The need to compete for attention sometimes necessitates one's being vigilant: writing angles have to be constantly new. Subjects must be highly relevant to readers but not repetitive (as if the list of relevant topics never dries up). Headlines, when possible, should be saucy if not spicy. The end product often denotes the writer's "marketing sense" rather than his or her actual self. Even so, one would be lucky if one could capture readers' fleeting attention. Writing sometimes becomes to me a fidgeting task rather than a soothing activity.
