【明報專訊】THE recent death of a tourist in our city is, definitely, an isolated incident. Had things like this happened on a regular basis, Hong Kong's tourist industry would have ceased to exist long ago. However, even though the incident was a rare occurrence, there was an inevitability about it. Unless the root cause of the incident is dealt with thoroughly, Hong Kong's reputation as the capital of tourism and a paradise for shoppers will continue to suffer, and our city will lose its appeal. The authorities must muster up the resolution to deal with the problem so that Hong Kong's tourist industry will develop in the right direction.
