Loophole in contactless payment function
拍卡支付保安有漏洞 須平衡銀行公衆利益
文章日期:2015年10月16日

【明報專訊】THERE IS such a loophole in the contactless payment function of certain credit cards that their holders may sustain losses because unauthorised persons may read and obtain their personal data. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), which is responsible for supervising banks, did not promptly disclose sufficient information. Not knowing whether there were security problems with their credit cards, citizens once had the jitters. This shows the HKMA and the government failed to strike a reasonable balance between maintaining the stability of the banking system and protecting citizens' interests. They ought reasonably to try and make improvements.
