A Little English﹕Where is Utopia?
文章日期:2014年11月19日

【明報專訊】Utopia (烏托邦) is a word coined in 1516 by Sir Thomas More. It is the title of his book and he made it up from the Greek words for "no place". More created an imaginary complex society on a remote island with strict moral codes which he considered more just than the English society of his time. He was a great thinker, lawyer, statesman, and a good friend of King Henry the Eighth. Sir Thomas More refused to compromise his moral stance and was unjustly accused of treason (叛國罪) and beheaded (斬首).
