【明報專訊】IT WAS REVEALED that Next Media chairman Jimmy Lai had donated money to politicians and political groups in Hong Kong. Thereupon five legislators belonging to the Federation of Trade Unions sent the Legislative Council (Legco) Committee on Members' Interests a letter, in which they asked that it investigate allegations that some legislators had omitted to declare they had received donations from Jimmy Lai. The affair has aroused much concern. Now Hong Kong has so democratised that members of District Council and Legco are elected, it is necessary to draft and adopt as soon as possible a thorough-going and comprehensive piece of legislation governing political parties.
