【明報專訊】TO DATE (June 24), more than 700,000 people have voted, either online or at polling stations, in the unofficial referendum held by the organisers of the Occupy Central movement, and the turnout is expected to increase until June 29, the closing date of the vote. With so many citizens expressing their views through the public vote, the authorities will find themselves seriously out of touch with public sentiment if they choose to ignore the vote result on the grounds that it is not legally binding.
