【明報專訊】THREE central government officials met in Shanghai with a number of pan-democratic lawmakers from Hong Kong for discussions on political reform. The Shanghai trip, we may say, did not start well but did not end badly. It did not start well because, in response to the central government's invitation to all lawmakers, only 14 pan-democratic lawmakers signed up for the trip. However, it did not end badly because the meeting between 10 pan-democratic lawmakers and the three central government officials proceeded in a way that was not quite disappointing.
