【明報專訊】With the launch of the consultation on constitutional reform, the government and the public appear diametrically opposed to each other. In addition to the extremists' use of violent language and egg throwing, radical lawmaker Raymond Wong Yuk-man yesterday warned that revolution is now the only way out for Hong Kong, and that in future "petrol bombs will be thrown instead of eggs". Will there be a revolution in Hong Kong? Will petrol bombs be thrown? While no one has a crystal ball to predict the future, we believe the majority of the people hope that the upcoming discussions on constitutional reform will be guided by sense and reason rather than be disrupted by social upheavals, which are sure to plunge Hong Kong into a decline it will never recover from. We hope for the best, but no one knows what will happen.
