【明報專訊】THE FINANCIAL SERVICES DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (FSDC) has released six reports, in which the situation Hong Kong is now in as an international financial centre is looked at macroscopically and microscopically and policy recommendations are included. On the whole, the FSDC has found nothing new about the problems Hong Kong has encountered, but the strategic proposals listed in the first batch of its reports (especially the twenty-one items about strengthening Hong Kong's status as an offshore yuan centre and some about financial product and market development) are highly operable. It is hoped that the regulators will meet market needs and do what may make it possible for Hong Kong's financial services sector to grow both in size and in strength.
