【明報專訊】Coretta Scott was a student at the New England Conservatory of Music (新英格蘭音樂學院) in Boston. She had a beautiful singing voice and dreamed of a musical career. She had worked hard to get to the New England Conservatory. A friend introduced Coretta Scott to Martin Luther King Jr. King fell in love with the lovely young woman right away. King told her that if they got married, she would have to forget about her musical career. He saw the role of a wife as homemaker (主婦) and mother. It was hard for Scott to give up her dream, but she did.
