【明報專訊】EMSD (Electrical and Mechanical Services Department) officers have started inspecting the lifts whose maintenance is Shineford Engineering's responsibility. They have not yet done with half of them, but five of them must be taken out of service because they have found the code of practice was not followed in connection with them. That has raised doubts about the quality of the contractor's services. The EMSD should complete the inspections as soon as possible and let citizens know how the situation stands so as to restore their confidence in lift safety.
