【明報專訊】ACCORDING TO a recent opinion poll conducted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, there has been a steady decline in the number of Hong Kong people who identify themselves as "Chinese citizens", while compared with their elders a remarkably great number of those born after 1980 (the younger generation) identify themselves as "Hong Kong citizens". As the post-80s have received their education after Hong Kong's restoration to China, this rise of a local consciousness evidently has nothing to do with British colonial education.
