【明報專訊】WANG LIJUN, former vice-mayor and head of the Public Security Bureau of Chongqing, revealed to the world a gruesome aspect of Chinese politics when he entered the US consulate in Chengdu. Since then, Gu Kailai, wife of Chongqing's former mayor Bo Xilai, has received a suspended death sentence for murder, Wang himself has been sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for bending the law to selfish ends, defection, abuse of power, and accepting bribes, and four other Chongqing police officers have been sentenced to imprisonment for helping to cover up Gu's crime.
