【明報專訊】HongCOMM Survey Lab of the School of Communication of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has done a survey on Chief Executive (CE) hopefuls. However, on January 14, when the survey was not yet completed, HKBU announced the popularity gap between Leung Chun-ying and Henry Tang had narrowed to 6.5 percentage points. Media reports of that conveyed the impression that Tang enjoyed greater and greater popular support. However, three days afterwards, HKBU uploaded in a low-key way a "supplementary version", which says the survey was completed on January 14 and the popularity gap between the two CE hopefuls was actually 8.9 percentage points. Judging from available information, it is doubtful that the survey is independent, objective or credible.
