【明報專訊】Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC, the White House (白宮) is the official residence and office of the president of the United States. Since the administration of George Washington (華盛頓,1789-1797), who occupied presidential residences in New York and Philadelphia, every American president has resided at the White House. At the time of its completion in 1800, it was the largest house in the country. The building was burned down in 1812, and has been renovated (裝修) repeatedly over the last two centuries.
