【明報專訊】Chung Yeung Festival (重陽節) is also known as "Double Ninth Festival" (重九.). Chung Yeung Festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese calendar (October 5 in this year's solar calendar). As the number nine is associated with the principle of "yang" or "yeung" (陽.), being the ninth day of the ninth month, it is the Double Yeung ("Chung" means double).
