【明報專訊】The moon is often associated with romantic feelings in English poetry. That is easily understandable. At the same time, because it changes its shape, it is also seen as a symbol of mystery and fickleness (變化無常). Some poems, however, look at the pallid (暗淡的) light of the moon with horror. In Under the Harvest Moon, Carl Sandburg thinks of death at the sight of the moon.
